    A dull chain drags through timber instead of cutting through it, and this file is what brings the edge back.

    The 5/32in round profile matches the gullet of a small-pitch chain, so every stroke follows the curve of the tooth instead of flattening it out. Run it with a filing guide and a few passes restore the hook that makes a saw pull itself through the cut.

    At 150mm it is sized for the smaller saws around the shed and the ute, easy to keep in the kit for a quick touch-up between jobs rather than waiting for a full service.
