A hard-wearing, lush green lawn built for the way we live now. This Brunnings Kikuyu blend thrives in warm to dry conditions and needs less water than most other lawn types, while growing happily in nearly any soil.

Unlike a lot of common lawns, kikuyu is self-repairing, so worn or damaged areas re-establish over time instead of staying bare. It's the sort of lawn that shrugs off a busy backyard.

The clever part is the nursery cover. The blend includes an easy-to-establish annual ryegrass that germinates in 7 to 10 days, greening up early and protecting the slower kikuyu while it takes hold. Over time the kikuyu takes over the whole lawn. The seed is fertiliser coated with TurboCote to fast-track it, and 1 kilogram covers a generous 100 square metres.
