Two Different Beds. One Rottie. May The Best Nap Spot Win.

Look, I love a good nap. Give me a shady patch of grass or a couch corner I can sneak onto and I’m set. But hoomans – picking the right bed for a Rottweiler is no walkies in the park. You’ve got the Linen Look Dog Basket on one paw – stylish, soft, and made for curling up. Then there’s the Elevated Dog Bed – tough, breezy, and built like a backyard throne.
So what’s better for a big, chunky cuddle bug like me? Let’s chew through the pros and snooze-cons together (while resisting the urge to shred the packaging).
The Problem: Finding A Bed As Tough As Your Dog
We Rotties don’t do dainty. We do guard duty, garden zoomies, hammock-level naps, and suspicious staring at joggers. Our beds? They need to survive claws, weather, slobber, and late-night digging fits. Not to mention actually supporting 45+ kilos of pure, loveable muscle.
According to a recent paw survey (conducted by me, sniffing everyone’s beds at the park), it goes like this:
“Soft beds are great until your big dog flattens them like a pancake. Then it’s just decorative floor fluff.”
So hoomans, the real question isn’t just ‘which looks best’ – it’s ‘which one actually wins the nap war in the yard or lounge?’
The Linen Look Dog Basket: Couch Cosy Vibes
This one’s paw-fect for indoor lounging or shaded porch sessions. The Linen Look Dog Basket is all soft-touch elegance with high sides for head-flopping. Great for curl-up snoozers and dogs who like feeling hugged by their bed.

- Pros: Comfy, supportive side walls, stylish for indoor settings, fantastic for post-zoomie day crash-outs.
- Cons: Not weatherproof – if it gets soggy, it stays soggy. Less chew-resistant. Might overheat in summer naps.
If your big dog prefers curling into a drooly cinnamon roll or needs joint support, it’s a strong contender. Keep it inside or under cover, and resist the urge to let us take our muddy paws straight on it (I regret nothing).
The Elevated Dog Bed: The Backyard Throne
Now this is a bed that says “Yes, I patrol the fence line with authority and also enjoy breezy naps.” The Sivomens Elevated Dog Bed keeps your pup off the dirt, helps with airflow (no sweaty bellies here), and is built for serious durability.

- Pros: Chew-resistant, great for airflow, fab for outdoor use, easy to clean (just hose it off!).
- Cons: Not squishy – may need an extra pad for older joints. Doesn’t hug – better for sprawlers than curlers.
This is the choice for Rotties who refuse to back down from a midday sunbake or who play backyard sentry. Add a blanket in winter and boom – year-round outdoor throne.
So... Which One Deserves the Treat Jar of Approval?
Here’s what it comes down to: inside = Linen Look Basket, outside = Elevated Bed. But if your Rottie lives half inside, half on patrol like me? You might be cheeky and get both. (Let’s just say I’ve trained my hoomans well.)
Still Stuck? Ask Yourself This:
- Where does my dog nap most – indoors or outside?
- Do they flop like a sea lion (elevated) or curl like a wombat (basket)?
- Do they run hot, or need extra padding for their joints?
- Do they treat beds with respect... or like a chewable challenge?
Either way, both these beds are paws above the cheapies that flatten or fray within a month. These are real contenders – built for big dogs with bigger comfort standards.

One Final Tail Wag of Truth
It’s not about what looks good in your lounge. It’s about where your Rottie actually wants to crash after guard duty, dig patrol, or a game of stealth possum-watch. The best dog bed? The one that doesn’t just survive us – it earns our loyalty. And trust me, that’s hard to do when I’m 48kg of drool-powered nap critic.
Your dog doesn’t care about interior style. They care that it’s comfy, cool in summer, warm in winter, and built like the tank they are. Nap-worthy or not – that’s my call. And I don't hand out 5-paw ratings easily.
Stay strong, stay comfy, and save a corner of the bed for me.
High paw & big snooze energy,
Thor 🐾
