The seating washer sits at the base of the outlet valve, and once it's hard or out of shape the water slowly leaks past and the cistern keeps refilling. This Fix-A-Loo one suits Reba and Fowler push button cisterns with an internal overflow made between 1988 and 1997, and Fowler single flush units. It's a black washer, 22mm inside and 62mm outside, so compare it with your old one before you fit it, as there are lots of look-alikes for other valves.
