A 40g Twister Lure is the kind of thing that goes in the tackle box and quietly earns its keep. It's a curl-tail lure built to cast well and keep working on the drop, which covers you for flathead, salmon and the odd bream that's willing to chase.
At 40g it's got enough weight to get out past the break or across a deep gutter, and the tail does the rest once it's in the water. Work it with a steady lift-and-wind or let it sink and hop it back along the bottom.
It's a genuinely simple lure to fish, which is exactly why it's stayed a tackle box staple. Full specs are in the tabs below, and if you're not sure it suits your trip, call us on (08) 8536 4333 or pop in to 34-52 Milnes Rd, Strathalbyn.

The need-to-know
- Type: twister-tail soft plastic style lure
- Weight: 40g
- Colour: as packaged
- Target use: casting and jigging for bream, flathead, salmon and similar species
- Rod/reel: suits a general spin outfit rated for the weight
Why it's worth having
- Built to be cast a long way and worked back with a simple lift-and-wind, so it suits someone still learning to read a retrieve.
- The curled tail kicks on the drop as well as the retrieve, which gives it action even when you're not doing much at all.
