A packet of sweet corn seed for the veggie patch, and there's nothing quite like corn picked and cooked the same afternoon.

This is the D.T. Brown Early Extra Honey Sweet variety in a 6g packet. Corn wants warm soil, so it goes in once the frosts are done and the ground has warmed up in spring, and you can keep sowing into summer for a later crop. Plant it in a block of short rows rather than one long line, because corn is wind pollinated and a block gives you fuller cobs. Give it full sun, rich soil and steady water, and the full sowing details are on the back of the packet.

One 6g packet. Full specs are in the tabs below, and if you want a hand planning the summer veggie bed, call us on (08) 8536 4333 or come in to 34-52 Milnes Rd, Strathalbyn.
