A drill that lets a standard chuck punch well above its usual limit.

The reduced shank steps down to 12.5mm, so this 17.0mm bit still grips in any 13mm chuck even though the cutting diameter is well past what that chuck would normally take. The body is M2 high speed steel with a blue steam-oxide finish, built to handle the heat of drilling steel and other ferrous metal without losing its edge, and the 118 degree point suits general metal drilling straight out of the pack.

Run it slow, around 350 RPM or under, and let the bit do the work rather than forcing it. It's the one to reach for when a job calls for a hole bigger than your chuck should technically allow.
