A surf sinker is built to do one job, hold the bottom on a sandy beach where a plain round sinker just rolls back in with the next wave.

The star points grip the sand as the sinker settles, and the No.2 size is the middle ground, enough to hold in a moderate surf without being more lead than the cast needs. If the wash is heavier, step up a size rather than fighting it with the same sinker.

Match the sinker to the conditions on the day and the rig stays put instead of walking up the beach. Full specs are in the tabs below, and if you're not sure it suits your trip, call us on (08) 8536 4333 or pop in to 34-52 Milnes Rd, Strathalbyn.
