    A timber sanding float for rubbing back render and plaster to a smooth, even surface once the initial coat has gone off. Run it in circular passes and it knocks down high spots and closes any small imperfections left from floating.

    Wooden floats give a slightly rougher, sandy texture compared to a poly float, which is exactly what traditional render and lime work calls for. It's also handy on concrete where you want a rough, non-slip finish rather than a slick one.

    A genuinely different finish to plastic, worth having alongside your poly float rather than instead of it.
