Puts a break in a 40mm PVC pressure line that you can undo by hand, so a pump, a filter or a valve can come out later without cutting the pipe.

Glue each end onto 40mm PVC pipe with priming fluid and PVC cement like any other pressure fitting, and the big nut in the middle does the joining. When it's time to service whatever's behind it, back the nut off, lift the part out and do it up again after. It's the usual fitting to put in front of a pump or a check valve for exactly that reason. Holman make their PVC pressure fittings to AS/NZS 1477 with WaterMark approval.
