Makes a new gasket out of the tube when the cut one's cooked or you can't get the right one, and it's the copper one built for the hot end of the engine.

It's a high temperature RTV silicone that handles up to 371°C in short bursts, so it suits exhaust manifolds, headers, turbo connections, thermostat housings and valve covers. It stays flexible once it's cured, holds up to oil, coolant and transmission fluid, and it's sensor safe, so it won't foul the oxygen sensors on a modern engine. Clean both faces, run a bead around the bolt holes, bolt it up, and give it about 24 hours to fully cure before it sees heat.
