Chicken manure to dig into the veggie patch or the garden beds before you plant, so the soil's got some life and feed in it before anything goes in.
Brunnings compost it first, which takes the edge off the smell and leaves it with a crumbly texture that mixes straight into your existing soil. Spread it over the bed, fork it through the top layer and water it in, then give it a little while before you put seedlings in. You can also use it round established plants, keeping it back off the stems. Wear gloves and wash your hands after, the same as with any manure.
It's a 25 litre bag, so it's a bulky one to carry. Full specs are in the tabs below, and if you want to know how much a bed needs, call us on (08) 8536 4333 or come in and chat with us at 34-52 Milnes Rd, Strathalbyn.
