Helical shank decking nails that twist into the timber as you drive them, so the boards are less likely to work loose as the deck flexes under foot traffic.

These are Otter Titadeck 75 x 3.75mm decking nails, galvanised and with a helical shank, made for fixing decking and outdoor structures and for softwood framing, where that twisted shank gives them extra holding power over a plain nail. Galvanised suits most outdoor decking, but for a deck right on the coast or treated timber that's going to stay wet, stainless is the better pick.
