Greens up citrus and other plants whose older leaves are going yellow with a green V left at the base, which is the classic sign they're short on magnesium.

It's a liquid magnesium chelate that you mix at 20mL to a litre of water and mist onto the leaves with a garden sprayer, just to the point before it runs off. It sticks to the foliage and is rainfast after 2 to 3 hours, and because it goes on the leaves it puts a lot less magnesium into the soil than an Epsom salts drench. Yates say to repeat every 2 to 4 weeks as needed and to spray early morning or late afternoon, but not on days over 25°C or while the plant is flowering. Stone fruit get a soil drench instead of a spray.

It suits citrus, tomatoes, vegies, camellias, azaleas and gardenias. Full directions are in the tabs below, and if you're not sure it's magnesium your plant needs, bring a leaf in to 34-52 Milnes Rd, Strathalbyn or call us on (08) 8536 4333.
