A 10 gauge, 40mm chipboard screw with the thickest shank in the range for jobs that need real strength.

Stepping up to a 10 gauge gives noticeably more holding power than the 6 or 8 gauge options, while the countersunk, self-embedding head still finishes flush without pre-countersinking. Full thread the length of the screw spreads the load evenly, and it still runs in with a standard number 2 Phillips bit.

At 40mm, it's suited to heavier shelving, cabinet carcasses and fixings that take real weight, where the finer gauges would flex or strip out over time. Yellow zinc plating covers normal indoor conditions.

Twenty-two per blister pack, sized for the tougher jobs rather than everyday light fixing.
