A 45kg is the household bottle. It runs hot water, heating, a cooktop, an oven or a gas fireplace off the one connection.

How long it lasts comes down to what you have running off it. On a cooktop alone, twelve to eighteen months is normal. Add hot water for a family of four and you are looking at a changeover every three or four months. Run a gas heater hard through winter and the same bottle can go in three to six weeks.

Most homes run a pair. One works while the other sits full and turned off in reserve, so you change over the moment the first one empties instead of going without hot water.

Getting it home is the part people get caught out by. A 45kg has to travel upright in an open ute tray or trailer, never inside a car, van, boot or cabin. The fines are heavy and they land on you as well as on us. If you have not got a ute or a trailer, we deliver.

Deliveries run Tuesday around Strathalbyn, with Woodchester, Hartley and Callington added depending on bookings. There is a southern run out through Langhorne Creek, Belvidere, Milang, Clayton, Finniss and Tooperang. Ashbourne, Paris Creek, Macclesfield and Wistow get slotted onto whichever run suits that week. If your town is not on the list, ring and ask.

Every bottle we install gets leak tested before we leave, and worn pigtails are replaced as part of the job. We are not licensed to fit regulators, so if yours needs replacing we will tell you and point you at a local gas fitter.

Pickup and Returns

This is a flammable product, so we can't post it. You can pick it up from our Strathalbyn store at 34-52 Milnes Rd, or ask us about local delivery when you order. Call (08) 8536 4333 and we'll have your bottle ready.

For safety reasons, gas bottles can't be returned once they have left the store. If you have a question about your gas setup, a refill or an exchange, our team is only a call away and happy to help.
