LINSEED OIL-RAW 4 LT

Outdoor timber dries out, goes grey and starts to split if you leave it to the weather. Raw linseed oil is the old-school fix, and it still works. It soaks deep into the grain, feeds the wood and helps it shrug off the sun and the rain.

This is pure raw linseed oil from Diggers, nothing added. It is the slowest of the linseed oils to dry, so give each coat proper time before the next one goes on. Thin it 50:50 with mineral turps and it will penetrate far better than straight from the tin. Mineral turps is sold separately.

It is a favourite for outdoor furniture and fences, and it will bring a tired old cricket bat back to life too. Build it up over a few coats and you get a deep, natural finish that lasts.
