Joins two lengths of 25mm poly pipe end to end, and you do it by hand, with no glue or heat needed.

This is Philmac's 3G compression fitting, so you undo the nut a bit, push the pipe in past the grip ring until it stops, and do the nut back up firm. It's rated to 1600kPa, PN16, which is more than a house or rural water line will throw at it, and the body is a tough plastic that won't rust in the ground. If you're fixing a split or a mower nick, cut the damaged bit out square and put the joiner in its place.
