Round nylon with an inner core for a stronger, cleaner cut. It's made by Speed Group, one of the leading OEM line makers.

You get a 1/2lb donut, about 40 metres, so there's a good amount there to get through the trimming. Wind what you need onto the head and keep the rest for next time.
