    A clear gloss varnish for timber inside the house, like doors, trims, cupboards, panelling and furniture, that keeps the look of the timber and stands up to wear, in a 4 litre tin for the bigger jobs.

    It's the Haymes Woodcare interior varnish, and it goes over natural or stained timber. Haymes say it resists heat and steam, so it's fine in a kitchen or bathroom, but it's not made for floors or benchtops. Sand the timber smooth with 240 grit, brush on a thin coat along the grain, and give it 8 hours before the next one, with a light sand between coats. It's a solvent based varnish, so clean your brush with mineral turps and keep the room aired.
