    The first coat in the Haymes UVEX system for outside timber, a clear water based primer that soaks in and gives the UVEX Finish something solid to hold on to.

    Haymes make it to help the finish stick and to keep water and mould out, and it steadies the timber before the 2 coats of UVEX Finish go on. It suits decking, cladding, weatherboards, plywood, fences, pergolas, doors and outdoor furniture, tannin-rich timber included. Prep new timber with Woodcare Rapid Prep, or with Wood Cleaner if it's been weathering for 6 weeks or more, and let it dry. Brush on 1 coat along the grain, give it at least 3 hours, and get the UVEX Finish on within 7 days. It washes up in water. Don't put it on below 10 degrees or above 35, in direct sun, or with rain forecast in the next 48 hours. You can also use it on joinery before it goes up, so the timber's protected from cracking and cupping while the build's going on.
