Run a tubeless plug kit and you will get through the strings, so a refill pack is worth keeping in the boot. This Hard Unit set gives you five 4-inch repair strings, the brown self-vulcanising cords that plug a puncture from the outside.

They are the consumable part of a string-plug repair. You ream out the hole, thread a string through the insertion tool, push it in and trim the excess. Being fully self-vulcanising, the cord bonds into the tyre on its own, so there is no separate glue to chase.
