Stops the leak where the flush pipe joins a low level cistern, with a new seal ring and the cap nut that holds it.

The cap nut screws onto the cistern outlet and squeezes the ring around the 50mm flush pipe. When the old ring perishes, water seeps out of that join every time you flush, and a new ring and nut is usually all it needs. Turn the water off at the stop tap and flush the cistern empty before you undo the old nut, then snug the new one up by hand and watch the join over the next few flushes.
