Lay down a clean, easy-starting weld with a rod that doesn't stick halfway through the job.

Platinum 12V is a general purpose E6013 arc welding electrode built for all-position work, including vertical-down. Low spatter and easy de-slagging mean less clean-up once the weld's done, and the arc is forgiving enough for a home hobby welder without letting a trade welder down either.

It meets AWS A5.1 E6013 / AS-NZS 4855 B-E43 13 A, so it's suited to general mild-steel fabrication and repair, not specialised alloy work.

Why this one earns its spot in the kit

  • All-position rating means one box of rods covers flat, vertical and overhead work
  • Low spatter cuts down the grinding and clean-up after each weld
  • Easy de-slagging saves time between passes on multi-run jobs
  • General purpose classification suits most mild-steel repair and fabrication without a rod change
