Joins 1-1/2 inch rural poly pipe onto a male thread, like a tap or a valve outlet, and it'll come apart again later if you ever need to change things.

It's a Philmac Rural end connector, poly pipe one end and a 1-1/2 inch BSP female thread on the other. You cut the pipe square, slide the nut and grip ring on, tap the terracotta insert into the pipe and then tighten the nut with a wrench, which draws the insert in and makes the seal. Wrap the male thread you're screwing into with thread tape. Rural fittings suit Rural B class poly, so check your pipe is rural size and not metric, as they're not the same.
