Big, bold pom-pom blooms in rich yellow and orange, the marigold for the back of the bed rather than the front.

Crackerjack grows tall, up around 75cm, so it earns its place behind the shorter bedding plants where it can stand up and be seen. It's still an easy annual from seed, and like the smaller French marigolds it works as a companion plant through the veggie patch if you want to use it that way.

Sow direct into its final position after the soil has warmed. Keep it watered and weed-free while it establishes, and a liquid feed through the season keeps the flowers coming for months rather than weeks.
