Drops a 2 inch female thread down to 1-1/2 inch, so you can screw a smaller fitting or pipe into a bigger outlet, like a tank or pump outlet, without hunting for an adaptor.

The outside is a 2 inch BSP male thread that screws into the bigger fitting, and the inside is a 1-1/2 inch BSP female thread, with a hex on the end so you can get a spanner on it. Philmac make it in Australia from UV resistant polypropylene with tapered BSP threads, and their threaded range is rated to PN16 in sizes up to 2 inch. Use thread tape or a sealant made for plastic on the threads.
