Perlite is the little white granule that keeps potting and propagation mixes open and airy. It makes room for water and air to move through, so roots draw what they need without sitting wet and drowning.

Stir it through a propagation or cutting mix to get strikes away cleanly, or add it to general potting mix to lift drainage. Lightweight and sterile, so it's clean to handle and easy to blend.
