Sandy soil drains too fast and clay holds on too tight, and peat moss is the old fix for both. Brunnings Peat Moss is a natural soil conditioner that opens up the ground, holds water where roots can reach it, and lifts soils that are short on organic matter.

It also nudges the soil more acidic, which is just what acid-loving plants want. Azaleas, camellias, hydrangeas, daphne, ferns and palms all do better for a bit of peat worked in, and roses appreciate it too.

Dig it through the soil before planting, or lay it on as a mulch to even out temperature and slow moisture loss.
