Pots and terrariums that keep going sour usually just need better drainage and something to absorb the smell while they're at it. Horticultural charcoal does both, sitting as a chunky, lightweight layer at the base of a pot or terrarium to keep air moving and moisture from pooling.
Being primarily carbon, it absorbs odours and helps curb the bacteria that turn soil sour in a closed container. It doubles up neatly for aquarium use too, helping keep water clearer between changes.
5 litres covers a good run of pots, terrariums or a decent-sized aquarium setup.
