Mixed from Still Spirits Schnapps Base and 650 mL of 40 percent neutral spirit, this 50 mL essence makes 1.125 litres of finished liqueur. The pear flavour is genuine and not over-sweet, which is the usual complaint with cheaper schnapps.

Works well over ice, topped with soda, or stirred into a cocktail, and it's the kind of thing that disappears fast at a barbecue or a party.

The pear flavour reads clean and genuine, which is usually where a cheap schnapps lets itself down.
