For fixing timber battens or decking down to steel framing, these drill their own way through the steel, so there's no pilot hole and no swapping bits halfway through the job.

They're 14g x 100mm with a drill point, a bugle head that pulls itself in flush with the timber, and a 5mm hex drive. The Class 4 galvanised coating is the heavier corrosion class, which suits outdoor work. Macsim recommend a drill with a clutch, so set it to stop once the head is in and you won't strip the thread in the steel or sink the head too far.
